During my teens and early adulthood, panties were universally styled to be sexy.

Every day, the first thing I put on my body reinforced a sexualized idea of how to present myself.

I chafed at the lack of choice. I desired comfort, but I dressed my most intimate parts as though I were obliged to consider others’ desires.

I like that it’s become easier to find comfortable underwear that just cover my body without implying how I should view myself.
